Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002 -- 1:39 p.m. I am going to become a librarian. When I was younger, I never in a million years (well maybe not that many years) thought that I would ever want to be a librarian but I do. Last night, I was checking out my school website and I happened to come across a link to Masters of Information and Library Sciences. It looks relatively easy to get into (you only need about a 75% average in all four years of university) and there is a high demand for librarians so getting a job would be pretty easy as well. I know, just a few days ago I wanted to be a teacher but I don't really mesh well with kids so being a solitary librarian would be a good job for me. I might even get my Docterate in information and library sciences and I could be a proffessor! Many of the profs at my school get paid very well. I applied to be a volunteer Peer Guide (whatever that is) at my school next year. I feel like I don't have enough work experience for when I graduate so I might as well do some volunteer work to fatten up my resume and since it's volunteer work it would be harder for them to fire me. Ok, so yesterday I went to buy my textbook that I needed to study for my exam today but it was sold out. Well I got roz to lend me her book for an hour and I photocopied about 120 pages from the book. I studied at home at 11pm-midnight and then I went to Craig's place to study more. I figured that if I wasn't studying at home I'd be less likely to fall asleep. So I stayed there from 12-4am studying with the tv on. Strangely, at 3:30am, the cable went wierd. It turned off and then it would turn back on for 4 seconds and then it would turn off again for five minutes. Repeat ad nauseum and it was amazingly annoying. Notice how I left at 4am when I realised that it wasn't going to end anytime soon. Without the cable to keep me company there was no point in being there. I vow NEVER to put off studying til the VERY LAST minute like I did for that exam (ha, yeah right). I got to sleep at 5am and I got up at 7:30am to go to my exam. It was easier than I anticipated, yay me. I hope I did alright. Speaking of grades, I got an A (83%) on my group presentation that we did last thursday. yay group. |
