Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 -- 9:41 p.m. I've had highspeed internet now for almost a year I think. I had dial-up access at 28.8k for a year and then 56k for a year although dial up doesn't really count as having internet access does it. I remember one time, my household was going to change local telephone service providers. I was on the phone with the customer rep and after about thirty minutes of going through the entire order form on her computer, at the very end she mentioned that this service would not work if I had highspeed internet. I said "WHAT? slow down here, what did you say?" and she repeated herself. She added "well you could go to dialup, save money on that AND on your telephone bill!" I replied, "Miss, I would rather have NO PHONE AT ALL than lose my highspeed internet connection". She was a little tiffed but what could she do? I am the CUSTOMER AND THUS AM ALWAYS RIGHT! Anyways, what a stupid rule. I'm sure they have a good reason for it but still, It's retarded like a hollywood junky. what a STUPID simile. The Internet has not lost it's appeal for me, although ICQ and other chat mediums definitely have. The most exciting thing about this magic box of mine is when it downloads movies with Kazaa. amazing. I was putting off starting my essay (due thurs) because I had to study for my exam today. But since I did SO TERRIBLY on my exam today I doublely wasted my time. And instead of studying for Eng 117 last night, Anita and I hung out at Chapters studying Vogue and then we went to the Keg with Yoona, Sam, Bret and Alan for dinner. Anita is the devil. Well not really but we're bad influences on each other. So basically, I studied this morning for three hours for my exam today. Yes, I have no brain. |
