WWIDgirl's Diary

2002-01-03 -- 5:51 p.m.

Boring day. I worked for my parents in the morning and then I came home at about 2pm. Work was uneventful. Just the usual old people giving me attitude.

I work at a lottery booth in a mall and mostly it's older, lower middleclass to low income people (ack how Politically Correct) that frequent the booth. We have quite a few regulars, mainly I think due to my parents' friendliness.

It's like my dad says, My mom may be strict at home but she sure is nice to others.

Most of the customers are really nice, it's just that one out of the twenty that really ruins my day.

The ones that bitch and moan about not ever winning, well here's a hint, STOP PLAYING!

Or the man who came to the booth today and wanted to play the 649 that he won on again. Well to do this, I have one chance to press "yes" to play again and then one chance to press "yes" or "no" to playing encore. Well this man wanted encore and I accidently pressed "no". So I told him and he was quite adament about getting encore so I asked him if he had another copy of the numbers, he didn't.

So he watched as I SLOWLY wrote out all 54 numbers (9 boxes with 6 numbers each= 54) while the line grew increasing longer. It would have been much easier if he had done it because he knows the numbers, but did he offer? NO!! he just stood there. argh. I know I should have made him do it but I would have felt bad... maybe.

I got tim horton's soup for lunch. That is the highlight of my work time. My little break to eat my soup. I always get the soup deal with the Soup (creamy of course), white bun (instead of the tea biscuit), donut (strawberry vanilla or boston cream) and large peach drink with no ice.

Although I love the food, I hate the line at tim hortons. There is ALWAYS a HUGE line when i'm there. but it's usually worth the wait.

I went to my job interview at 4pm. Turns out it was for one of those telephone interviewers, where you call people at home and ask them survey questions. It pays $8 an hour. It wasn't really an interview. We just each read from this training booklet in order to asses our reading abilities and comprehension. It took an hour and a half. Turns out I can't do it anyway because the work hours at night and I have a night class. Ah well, whatever.

Some of the people reading were sooo bad. This one chinese guy had a REALLY think accent and this one young girl could barely read, she was stumbling over the stupidest words... I can't think of an example but believe you me, they were easy!

blah.

I'm going skating with Craig at 8pm tonight. yay. I didn't get to see him yesterday so I want to see him today.
